Northfield Manor Primary Academy Admissions Information

Northfield Manor Primary School is a 2 Form Entry school with 60 places available in each Year Group. Both Reception and In-Year Admissions are dealt with by the Local Authority and all applications should be made directly to them rather than the school. Birmingham Admissions and Appeals can be contacted on 0121 303 1888. The criteria for admissions to our school is as follows:

1. Looked After Children will have 1st Priority to places.

2.This is followed by the siblings of Children already attending Northfield Manor Primary  Academy

3.Priority will then be given to those children who live closest to the school.

Please note that we do not have a specific catchment area.

Reception Classes:

We hold 2 Open Afternoons for prospective parents to visit the school and have a look around. The dates can be obtained from the School Office, Local Nurseries and the Local Authority.

Each October Parents of Reception age children attending a community or private nursery should receive information by post from their Local Authority  detailing how they can apply for places in the Reception class of their chosen school/s for the following September.

Information can also be obtained from Primary Schools and Libraries.  Applications should be made on-line or posted to School Admissions by the date advised. Please do not send applications into any of your chosen schools. If your child has a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN), please refer to the SEN Statements page at

The local Authority will send e-mails or letters around mid-April to parents and carers notifying them of the place their child has been allocated. Parents/Carers have the right to appeal this allocation if it is not one of their choices and all appeals should be made directly to the Local Authority.  Please note, waiting lists for Reception children are not held by the school.

Following acceptance of a place in our Reception class, Parents/Carers will receive a letter from us confirming their child’s place and inviting them to a New Parents’ Evening in May/June.

In-Year Admissions:

Parents/Carers wishing to admit their child/children into one of our Year Groups during the year should complete an in-year transfer form available from the school office or Birmingham City Council website.Once completed the form should be bought into school with proof of address and the child's birth certificate or passport.  If a place is not available at that time, the child/children can be placed on the school waiting list.
