Attendance & Punctuality

The majority of parents wholeheartedly support and understand our determination for all children to access the education they are entitled.

We all know that pupils need to attend school regularly (and punctually) to benefit from their education and to enable them to reach their full potential. We also know that missing out on lessons leaves children vulnerable to falling behind – children with poor attendance tend to achieve less.

If a child’s attendance falls below what we expect, we take steps to address this as a matter of urgency. For example, we employ the services of an Education Welfare Officer who works alongside our Safeguarding Officer to monitor attendance and support improvements.

We also work in partnership with Birmingham Local Authority to address poor attendance should it occur. The consequences of poor attendance and our shared commitment to tackling it is outlined in the following letter:

Term-time Holidays

May we remind you that it is against the law to take your children on holiday during term time; you can be fined and lose your school place, so please ensure visits and trips are taken during school holiday times.
