Our theme for english this half term is...

Traditional Tales

For the first part of the half- term in English we will be re-telling and adapting traditional tales. the children will be working towards adapting and re-telling traditional tales.  At the end of the term they will explain what their favourite traditional tale is

and why to year 2 and reception

Learning Challenges

This term our Learning Challenge  is:

      All About Me.

Each half term we will be covering a different Learning Challenge.  Through these challenges we will teach Science, History,Geography, Art and DT.

Our Learning Challenge for this half term is 'All About Me'. Through this challenge the children will be researching their own family history and their individual milestones.  They will also compare their similarities and differences with their peers.  At the end of the Learning Challenge they will introduce themselves to the children in Key Stage 1.

This half term the children will be exploring 'Animals Including Humans'.  The children will be learning about the habitats, diets and characteristics of the animals from around the world.  They will then look at the human body and compare their body with those of different animals.

Reading is a key skill for children to acquire. We believe that in order for children to progress in their reading they must enjoy it. Please send book bags in everyday.

Individual reading books are sent home with your children on a Thursday. They are changed weekly. Your child will also have a session of guided reading during the week. The reading diary's sent home are for you to comment in on how your child has read at home.

Your child's BugClub account will be updated regularly with new books to read at home. Children will also be given the chance to use BugClub in school once a week during Guided Reading sessions.

Homework will be sent home every Friday and is due in on the following Tuesday. We feel that this is a great opportunity for you to see the ability of your child and also develop their learning at home.

Frank have PE on Mondays and Tuesday.

Mandela have PE on Mondays and Fridays.

Our PE kit is red tshirt, black shorts and black pumps. It is important that all children have their PE kits in school.
