Our PE this half term is Rounders. Please ensure that your child brings their PE kit every week. This is a red polo top and black shorts.

Tuesday- rounders

Children will have the chance to visit the library each week. They are also encouraged to borrow books regularly from the classroom. Please can you  ensure that you listen to your child read, write a comment and sign their reading diaries daily.

Pupils can also use their BUG CLUB account or Oxford Owl as a form of home reading. If your child has forgotten their reading diary, please just make a note of their reading on a dated piece of paper.

Children are expected to learn their spellings and read their reading books daily. Your child will also bring home a homework book containing a homework grid for the term - please help them complete tasks in this book and return to school by Wednesday of the following week. In addition, we will also send home a weekly comprehension, maths or SPAG homework sheet to better prepare children for their SATs next year.

Thank you.

This half term in English we will be writing letters and creating posters for our Fundraising event. We will be using persuasive language to encourage people to donate and attend our event and formal language to write letters to charities.

This term in maths we are consolidating the previous term's maths work by applying our knowledge. We are looking more at problem solving and word problems for all calculations, money, time, weight, capacity and length.

Our topic for this half term is 'How We Care for the World.' To start the topic, we will be looking at our school and how we care for each other. The children will have to plan something to make our school a happier place to be!

Next, we will think about our local community. Children will organise an event to help people in our local community. They will have to decide what to do and who to help!

After that, we will look at global issues like Global Warming and deforestation. Children will research what can be done to care for the world.

Our science topic is ‘Living Things and Their Habitats.’ We will be revising the parts and functions of plants and how they reproduce. This topic will also look at the life cycles of different animals and the habitats in which they live, incorporating why they live is such areas.
