Wednesday 10th - Arithmetic Paper 1 & Reasoning Paper 2

Booster group and breakfast

Thursday 11th - Reasoning Paper 3

Booster group and breakfast

The key stage two doors will open at 8:45am. All children should be in their classroom at 8:50am. The   outside gates will be closed at 8:55am and the register taken - any children arriving after this time will need to come into school via the main office and will be marked as late. School ends at 3:25pm.

Children will have the chance to visit the library each week. They are also encouraged to borrow books regularly from the classroom and reading room. Please can you  ensure that you listen to your child read, write a comment and sign their reading record books about how you feel their reading is progressing on a daily basis.

Children are expected to learn their spellings each week, these are very important. They will be given a booklet for each half term and tests will be on a Wednesday. Your child will also bring home their homework book - please help them complete tasks in this book and  return to school by Monday of the following week.

This term we will be focusing on publishing our best pieces of writing and completing a range of English based activities in order to hold a successful production.

Reading and spelling practise will be a big focus this half term, so it is important that the  children are reading at home daily and are

practising their weekly spellings.

This term in Maths there will be a big focus on the four calculations, linking in problem solving, reasoning and fluency across all topics in maths. Children must be practising their timetables at home. Children will also be using and applying their skills into real world situations.

Our PE this half term will be athletics, rounders and dance. Please ensure that your child brings their PE kit every week. This is a red polo top and black shorts. They may wear trainers for this activity.

Our P.E days are on

Wednesdays and Thursdays for both classes.

This term we will be studying light and electricity. The children will be making circuits using a wide range of components and testing the different ways in which light is used.

Can we just remind parents that if your child has asthma and requires an inhaler in school, that it is sent in clearly labelled with your child’s name.

If your child wears glasses, please ensure that these are in school each day.

All medication should be reported to the office to ensure that the school are aware.
